My life
My name is Tanya Tikhonova. I’m 22 years old. I am a student and I go to university that is not far from my house. My Zodiac sign is the Cancer.
I was born on the 5-th of July in the margin of Chelyabinsk. Nearly 20 ago our family moved to the city center where I live together with my parents. There and then I went to the kindergarten and the school.
Now I'm studying foreign languages. I don’t have much free time but I have a hobby. My hobbies are drawing in Photoshop and creating video clips. I like to make it since 14 years. My favorite sports are football and basketball. It’s a pity I didn’t go to any sport club at school. I have friends. They are very good and we like to spend our time together. We meet and talk, dance and laugh, listen to good music and do everything that is interesting for us. At the weekend I like going to the cinema, cafes, sometimes to the theater and music concerts. On holidays I go to the country to my grandmother and aunt and live there near the railway and the lake.
I am a kind and gentle person, but I can stick up for myself. On the whole I am satisfied with my life, because every day gives new surprises. At the university I can learn something new, see nice people and communicate with them. But I want to feel a free floating, because I’m a freedom-loving irrational person.

My family
I think that a family is the most important thing for every person. Your Family are the people that always love you, support you and help you. For me it is impossible to live without my family. My family is not big, but strong. I have a mother and a father.
My father Vladimir Nikolayevich is 46 years old. He is a tall and well-built man with short light brown hair and grey eyes. Now he doesn’t work, because he’s a pensioner. He spends most of his time at home and keep house. By character my father is a quiet man, while my mother is energetic and talkative. Her name is Svetlana Vladimirovna. She is a medical assistant. My mother always has a lot of work to do about the house and out. She is a busy woman and we help her.
My family is very united. We like to spend time together. In the evenings we watch TV, read books and newspapers, listen to music or just talk about the events of the day. My parents don’t always agree with what I say, but they listen to my opinion. All of us like to spend our holidays in the country. We often go out of town where my grandmother lives. She is an aged pensioner now, but prefers to live in the country in summer. I also have many other relatives: aunts, uncles, cousins. My family means a lot to me. And we are happy when we are together.

My home
I think, every person always dreams about the place where he can speak about his problems, chat with close friends, where he can feel happy and quiet. For me it is my family and my home. It is the best place in the world and my dearest people live here. I live in an old five-storied block of flats in Pobeda Avenue. In front of the house there is a children’s playground and a small garden. I like to spend my time there.
Our flat is on the fourth floor. It’s very comfortable. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water and a telephone. There are two rooms in our flat: a living room and a bedroom.
Our living room is the largest in the flat. It’s nicely furnished. Against the wall you can see a big cupboard. Near it there is a dresser. There is a TV set in the corner. In the opposite corner there is a sofa. The curtains on the window match the wallpaper. All this makes the room cozy.
My room is very small. Here you can see two beds where my mother and I sleep at night and have a rest in the day-time. There is also a writing-table, a chair and some bookshelves here. In the corner of the room there it a TV set on the table.
My house is small, but comfortable. Although sometimes it’s crowded here, that’s why I haven’t enough personal space. So I want to live separately.

My dream job
There are many interesting and noble profession. Choosing a profession is a really important step in the life. I know many people who want to be a famous person, because they think many people will adore and respected them. And I want to become a computer programmer. It is an interesting and useful profession.
I am interested in computers. It is a whole new world. Many people continue careers of their parents or grandparents but it is not the case with me. My mother is a doctor and my father is a technician. But I don’t want to be either a doctor or a technician.
My favorite subjects in school were mathematics, physics, and, of course, computer science. I am not interested in such subjects as biology or chemistry. My hobby is computer games and computer programming. I have a computer and a laptop at home and can spend hours working at it. It is much easier to do things on computer, for example to write a composition. You can change the text as many times as you want and you don’t need to rewrite everything if you changed something.
I think that the profession of programmer can give many opportunities. Computers are the most rapidly changing sphere of modern technology. We are living in the age of information. And I think that the future is just filled with computers. Today people can work, go shopping or even go on dates sitting at their computers.
So after I finish university I want to continue to study computer science by myself.

Plans for future
When millions of young people leave university, they begin an independent life. Some of them start working, go into business; some of them continue schooling.
The future profession must be interesting. You have to be sure of your future. That means that you will be able to find a job after graduation from the university. A profession must be well-paid. Otherwise you won’t be able to support yourself and your future family.
I’d like to tell you about my plans for the future. I have known from childhood that I want to be a linguist. I have chosen this profession, because knowledge of foreign languages and foreign cultures is growing in importance nowadays. Foreign languages are the most efficient means of information exchange between the people of our planet.
In our country English and German are very popular. They are studied at schools, colleges and universities. It is important for me to learn foreign languages because I want to know what is going on around me in the world. With recent advances in technology, the world is changing rapidly in many fields, such as technique, arts and medicine. In fact, learning foreign languages is the answer to a lot of the things.
In conclusion I would like to say that if we don’t think about our future, nobody will think for us, so we just can’t have one. We must work hard to realize our wishes, because future is purchased by the present.
